52 degrees F at 3:50 p.m. — and still RAINING for about the third day in a row. Bob and I decided to explore our immediate watershed to see what all this rain is doing to our water systems. We started up at Bob’s Pond, which was full but holding — lots of water running in and lots running out too. The little rivulet that runs down through the woods to the culvert under Sherman Hollow Road and from there down to the Sherman Hollow Brook was swollen and rushing. It was pouring out the far side of the culvert like a waterfall. The brook, which is carrying all this water down to the Huntington River was loud and high, but it’s still running within its banks. Lots of water everywhere, but it’s all doing what it’s supposed to do.
