Shelburne Farms with Lynn and Nancy. We saw or heard RING-BILLED GULLS, a CROW, ROBIN, flock of WILD TURKEYS, a SONG SPARROW, RED-WINGED BLACKBIRDS, a CHIPPING SPARROW, GRACKLES, a KILLDEER, CATTLE EGRETS(!), (also 2 deer and 8 Brown Swiss heifers in the pasture here), HOUSE SPARROWS, a GREAT BLUE HERON, heard a possible SAVANNAH SPARROW, saw ROCK DOVES, STARLINGS, MALLARDS, CHICKADEES, a COMMON MERGANSER, WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH, BUFFLEHEAD, CANADA GEESE, a COWBIRD, HOUSE FINCH, CARDINAL, PHOEBE, and TUFTED TITMOUSE. Total of 26 species–plus one possible–and likely given the grassland habitat.
